The Universal Basket Stretcher has been studied to confront the most difficult of emergency situations. It is ideal for rescue operations in mines, at altitude and in water. Thanks to its robust form, resistance and flexibility of use, it is indispensable anytime that a reliable and safe stretcher is needed. A revolutionary technique has been used in its realization which ensures uniform thickness of the entire length of the stretcher. The shell is in high-density polyethylene and is joined to an aluminium framework that aims to consolidate its strength. The handles for transport, which are part of the structure itself, are placed along the entire perimeter. The grommets for the fixing of the spring catches of the harnessing are in stainless steel. Inside the shell there is a removable mattress, applied with self-adherent strips, made in closedcell EPDM, which makes it impermeable to both blood and water. The use of high-density polyethylene for this shell guarantees not only that it is shatterproof but also an exceptional sanitization. The Universal Basket Stretcher can hold a spine board.

The rigid spine board provides a system of recovery, transport and immobilization of the patient with suspected lesions of the vertebrae. The fixation to the stretcher, through the Rock Straps system of nylon/self-adherent strips belts, permits lifting of the patient even vertically during extrication or transportation in difficult conditions. In addition, thanks to four high density polyethylene sliding blocks, the spine boards can slide on steps. For the same reason, if the patient vomits it is possible to rotate the stretcher 90° on its side, avoiding the risk that any fluids are inhaled by the casualty. The rigid spine board can adapt to anyone, from children over 25 kg [55 lbs] up to big adults, maintaining the attachment of the belts around the victim's head, hence minimising lateral movements during transportation. It is completely compatible with all collars, and when use of both is combined, the most advanced system of spinal immobilization possible is achieved. The rigid spine board can be contained inside basket stretchers. The sliding blocks make the positioning of the board on irregular surfaces more stable and increase the weight capacity. The lifting of the board is made easier thanks to the peculiar design of the hand grips, studied to maximise the distance from the ground. It can be used in water, mountain and road rescue situations. A special rigid spine board, highly appreciated by rescue teams, puts together its famous technical characteristics and a built in system that allows to fix the restraints to the board. The side handles are translucent incorporated elements, they make easy buckling-unbuckling operations for a fast and safe anchorage of the patient's restraints with carabiner. The reduced thickness allows an easy storage of the spine board.
It's made of a single piece of high density polyethylene, injected with expanded polyurethane; this new moulding method guarantees to the item the following exclusive characteristics:
